🎙️Hosted by the speaker:
📌 Dr. Rana Khalid, holds the position of Chief Researcher and Executive Director at the IFPMC-London Public Policy Forum. She earned her PhD in International Relations and holds a second Master’s in International Economic Relations from the London School of Economics (LSE).
The workshop was attended by more than 100 academics and specialized researchers.
Dr. Rana spoke about the following:
The issues of poverty and the environment are multidimensional. They interact with each other in diverse and dynamic ways. Researchers, stockholders, and climate activists must follow scientific and universal approaches and frameworks to analyze the complex and thorny relationship between poverty and the environment.
Also, analysis of the big picture of poverty and migration issues and their relationship to the environment depends on more than just the development of research and statistics that analyze the relationship between the two phenomena. However, it requires continuous dialogue and explanation of the dimensions of this issue and its effects on citizens’ daily lives so that these issues can access decision-makers decisions and become part of the general planning and budget decisions.
Also, she explained the global mechanisms used to achieve this goal and how poverty and climate issues can be transformed into public issues affecting public policymakers.
At the end of the session, many questions and scientific interventions were raised by attendance.
