On January 9, 2022, the first economic forum was held at Cihan University – Duhok entitled “The Iraqi Budget for the Year 2021 and its Reflection on the Economic Reality”, in which a wonderful elite of economists and specialists in Iraq participated, and in the presence of Dr. Nawzad Yahya Bajger, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees Cihan Group and the President of Cihan University – Duhok, Dr. Zeravan AbdulMohsen Asaad.
The main speakers are: Prof.Dr. Mahmood Daghir, former Director General of the Central Bank, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Mashhadani, Professor of Economic Relations at the Iraqi University, Professor Ahlam Ibrahim Wali, Dean of the College of Administration and Economics at Salah El-Din University, Erbil, and Dr. Khaled Al-Abdali, Professor of Finance and Banking at the College of Knowledge in Erbil.
In addition to the presence of a large number of academics from different universities and ministries, including Dr. Bilal Al-Kiswani, Director of Social Development at UNICEF, Mr.Taha Al-Rubaie, Director General of the Iraq Stock Exchange, and Prof. Dr. Sameer Fakhri from Zakho University.
The session was moderated by Dr. Nawar Al-Saadi,Research Center manager at our university.
The forum was able to come up with many outputs and important points to identify the negatives that accompanied the 2021 budget and to provide solutions and proposals to avoid mistakes in the upcoming 2022 budget.
