The Scientific Association for Sustainable Development, in cooperation with the Consulting and Research Center at Cihan University – Duhok, organized a specialized training course in Baghdad on Sunday, September 27, 2026, under the title:
“Artificial Intelligence and Sustainable Development: Integrating Technology into Educational Curricula”
The training course brought together academics, researchers, educators, and participants interested in the intersection of artificial intelligence, higher education, scientific research, and sustainable development. The program aimed to explore the growing potential of artificial intelligence in transforming educational practices and supporting the development of more effective, inclusive, and sustainable university education.
The course highlighted the importance of moving beyond the theoretical discussion of artificial intelligence toward its practical and responsible integration into teaching, learning, and scientific research. As part of the scientific program, two faculty members from Cihan University – Duhok delivered specialized lectures addressing practical and strategic dimensions of technology and artificial intelligence in higher education.

Mr. Bilal Hikmat Rashid presented a lecture entitled:
“Practical Applications and Artificial Intelligence Tools in Teaching and Scientific Research.”
The lecture focused on the practical applications of artificial intelligence in academic environments, with particular attention to the ways in which AI-based tools can support university instructors and researchers.
The presentation addressed the potential use of artificial intelligence in areas such as preparing and developing educational materials, designing teaching activities, supporting academic writing and research, organizing information, analyzing data, and improving the efficiency of academic work.
The lecture also emphasized the importance of using AI tools within appropriate academic and ethical frameworks, particularly with regard to the reliability of information, academic integrity, critical evaluation of AI-generated content, and the role of the researcher and academic in verifying and interpreting results.

Mr. Khalid Ibrahim Jajan delivered a second lecture entitled:
“Utilizing Technology to Achieve Inclusive and Sustainable University Education.”
The lecture examined the role of modern technologies in supporting the development of a more inclusive, accessible, flexible, and sustainable higher education system.
It highlighted how digital technologies and emerging artificial intelligence applications can contribute to expanding access to education, supporting different learning needs, enhancing interaction between students and instructors, and improving the overall educational experience.
