MP Hussein Arab is an independent member of the Iraqi Parliament, representing Baghdad for two consecutive terms. He currently serves as the First Deputy Chairman of the Labor and Civil Society Institutions Committee and is also a member of the Iraq-Gulf Relations Committee.
He holds a university degree in Media and also a diploma in etiquette and protocol, with his parliamentary efforts primarily focused on developing legislation related to labor markets and workers’ rights. He played a key role in drafting and passing significant laws, such as the Social Security Law and the Labor Law, which have contributed to improving the working environment in Iraq, safeguarding workers’ rights, and strengthening the role of civil society institutions in this domain.
MP Hussein Arab exemplifies independent political action, continuing his efforts to balance legislation with economic development to meet the aspirations of Iraq’s labor market.
