The scientific symposium titled ‘CAPAi Design Thinking Tech Bootcamp,’ jointly organized by the Consulting & Research Centre at Cihan University – Duhok and the Center for Academic and Professional Advancement (CAPA) at the American University of Kurdistan (AUK), successfully concluded today. The event, held at Peshmerga Hall in Cihan University – Duhok, saw an engaging exchange of ideas and insights on innovative design thinking in technology from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. More than 100 students actively participated, showcasing their readiness and enthusiasm for engagement.
Aya Abdul Kareem project coordinator from CAPA explained the idea of the competition “CAPAi Design Thinking Tech Bootcamp” is a one-of-a-kind platform within Kurdistan for the brightest and most gifted young professionals. It will be facilitated by Raffi Simonian, who is the Executive Director of Epicenter for Action Research at the University of Los Angeles, California (UCLA) and has managed over 65 projects, including founding and facilitating similar bootcamps at Los Angeles Community College (LACC) and UCLA. This bootcamp at the American University of Kurdistan will provide scholarships to those professionals who have the courage to dream and come up with real solutions to real problems for the region and beyond. Participants are trained in entrepreneurship, which is based on thinking outside of the box. The bootcamp will enable innovative business thinking to flourish and contribute to sustainable business ideas, creating jobs and opportunities leading to growth and prosperity.
Note that only 42 participants will be accepted from all over Kurdistan and Iraq.
