Dr. Bilal al-Sugheyer, has over 25 years of global experience in investment, corporate banking and Small and Medium Enterprises finance. He joined IFC in 2006 specializing in Financial Institutions Group and focused on banking and financial infrastructure advisory services and investments financial markets in MENA, Africa and Eastern Europe. In 2020, appointed as IFC’s Resident Representative in Iraq. Prior to joining IFC, Dr. al-Sugheyer managed the European Union’s Loan Guarantee Program in Jordan, worked as Senior Credit and Investment Officer in Arab Palestinian Investment Bank and Société Générale de Banque -Jordanie . He also worked in the Palestinian Monitory Authority in supervision and research departments.
Dr. al-Sugheyer holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Cairo University, Masters and Ph.D. in Islamic Banking and Finance from the World Islamic Science and Education University.
