He is the Chief Strategist of the AFC Iraq Fund and is a seasoned capital markets professional with over 25 years of experience in the US and MENA markets. He holds key positions as a Visiting Fellow at LSE Middle East Centre, Senior Fellow at IRIS at AUIS, and non-resident Senior Fellow with the Atlantic Council – Iraq Initiative. Formerly, he served as Executive Director at NBK Capital and held leadership roles at WR Hambrecht + Co., KeyBanc, and Jefferies International. Ahmed’s educational background includes an M.Sc. in Mathematics from the University of Oxford and a B.Sc. (Hons, 1st class) in Mathematics from Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand.
